Job summary

Broward County Public Schools is seeking a semi-skilled ASST HEAD FACILITY SVPER-ELEM/MID/EX/CTR to support the cleaning program at DAVIE ELEMENTARY. You will supervise staff, operate boilers and HVAC equipment, climb ladders for light repairs, and ensure building security and safety.

This on-site role includes heavy lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally and 50 pounds frequently. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and 3 years of facility experience, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Standard high school diploma or GED completed.
• Three years of industrial, commercial, or educational facility experience.
• Ability to plan and direct the work of others and prepare work programs.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and energy conservation practices.
• Must be able to operate heavy duty cleaning equipment and ladders.
• Must complete required job-related training prior to applying.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and participate in the cleaning program to maintain facilities.
• Instruct staff in use of supplies, equipment, and safety procedures.
• Perform the duties of Facilities Serviceperson when needed.
• Operate boilers, AC equipment, and power sources as directed.
• Inspect and secure the school prior to departure; monitor security devices.
• Identify maintenance needs and call in work orders as directed.
