Job summary

Paterson Public Schools seeks coaches for the spring season (March 9, 2027 – June 14, 2027) who hold NJ Teacher or Substitute Teacher certificates. Candidates should have coaching experience, be available daily during the spring sports season, and maintain CPR/AED, concussion, heat acclimatization, and sports first aid certifications.

This position is subject to budget and requires compliance with district policy.

Qualifications

• Coaching experience preferred, must be available daily during spring sports season.
• Must be certified in CPR and AED, with current certificates.
• Must obtain a Concussion Awareness and Wellness certificate, renewed annually.
• Must obtain a Heat Acclimatization Awareness and Wellness certificate, renewed annually.
• All new coaches will have one year after being hired to complete a course in Sports First Aid.

Qualifications

• New Jersey Teacher's Certificate OR Substitute Teacher Certificate; proof of experience required for substitute certificate holder
• Coaching experience preferred, but not required
• Must be available daily during the spring sports season
• Must be certified in CPR and AED, and holding a current certificate in both
• Must obtain a \"Concussion Awareness and Wellness\" certificate or its equivalent, renewed annually
• Must Obtain a \"Heat Acclimatization Awareness and Wellness\" certificate or it's equivalent, renewed annually.
• All new coaches will have one year after being hired to successfully complete a course in \"Sports First Aid\".
• Meet such alternatives to above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
• Pending budget availability
