Job summary

Paterson Public Schools is seeking a seasonal coach for the spring sports season, running March 9, 2027 to June 14, 2027. Candidates must hold a New Jersey Teacher's Certificate or Substitute Teacher Certificate and provide proof of experience for substitute holders. CPR/AED certifications and wellness certificates must be current, with annual renewals.

Coaching experience is preferred but not required. A series of sport-safety certificates must be obtained or renewed, and a first aid course

Qualifications

• NJ Teacher's Certificate or Substitute Teacher Certificate is required.
• Proof of CPR and AED certification is required.
• Concussion Awareness and Wellness certificate or equivalent, renewed annually.
• Heat Acclimatization Awareness and Wellness certificate or equivalent, renewed annually.
• Coaching experience preferred, but not required.
• All new coaches must complete "Sports First Aid" course within one year of hire.
• Open for ten consecutive days following Paterson Public Schools posting date.

Job description

Season Dates: March 9, 2027 - June 14, 2027

• New Jersey Teacher's Certificate OR Substitute Teacher Certificate; proof of experience required for substitute certificate holder
• Coaching experience preferred, but not required
• Must be available daily during the spring sports season
• Must be certified in CPR and AED, and holding a current certificate in both
• Must obtain a "Concussion Awareness and Wellness" certificate or its equivalent, renewed annually
• Must Obtain a "Heat Acclimatization Awareness and Wellness" certificate or it's equivalent, renewed annually.
• All new coaches will have one year after being hired to successfully complete a course in "Sports First Aid".

• Meet such alternatives to above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
• Pending budget availability
• All posting are open for ten (10) consecutive days following the date posted on the Paterson Public Schools website
