Job summary

Paterson Public Schools in Paterson, NJ is seeking coaches for the winter sports season. The season runs Dec 1, 2026 – March 8, 2027 and applicants must be available daily during the winter season.

Candidates should hold a New Jersey Teacher's Certificate or Substitute Teacher Certificate; CPR and AED certification; and complete required wellness certificates (Concussion Awareness, Heat Acclimatization) renewed annually.

Qualifications

• Must hold a New Jersey Teacher's Certificate OR Substitute Teacher Certificate; proof of experience required for substitute certificate holder.
• CPR and AED certification, and current certificates in both.
• Must obtain Concussion Awareness and Wellness certificate, renewed annually.
• Must obtain Heat Acclimatization Awareness and Wellness certificate, renewed annually.
• All new coaches will have one year after hiring to complete a course in "Sports First Aid".
• Coaching experience preferred but not required.
• All postings are open for ten (10) consecutive days following the date posted on the Paterson Public Schools website

• Must obtain a "Concussion Awareness and Wellness" certificate or its equivalent, renewed annually
• Must Obtain a "Heat Acclimatization Awareness and Wellness" certificate or its equivalent, renewed annually.
• All new coaches will have one year after being hired to successfully complete a course in "Sports First Aid".
• Meet such alternatives to above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
• Pending budget availability
