Job summary

JOEY Restaurants is seeking a Head Chef in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment in Lancaster, CA. The Head Chef will lead a multi-member kitchen team, drive culinary excellence, manage labor and food costs, and ensure consistent, memorable dining experiences for our guests.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of culinary leadership, valid local/state certifications, and a passion for hospitality. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to mentor staff while maintaining high standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years culinary experience in a high-volume setting.
• Valid local/state Food Handler certifications and California Responsible Beverage Service where applicable.
• Passion for hospitality and delivering world-class experiences.
• Ability to stand, walk and lift up to 50 lbs as part of daily kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead a kitchen team to deliver consistent, high-quality menu items.
• Coach and mentor staff to meet JOEY standards and brand guidelines.
• Manage labor, food costs, and shop/maintain a pristine kitchen environment.
• Ensure safety, sanitation, and compliance with food-handling policies.
• Recruit, train, and retain talent to sustain a high-performance team.
• Communicate daily priorities and feedback to partners to drive execution.
