Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking a Head Cashier to lead a team of cashiers in a fast-paced store environment. You will guide front-end operations, ensure excellent customer service, and help maintain store standards.

You will schedule breaks, assist in hiring/training cashiers, and handle daily cash handling responsibilities. The role requires reliable availability, strong communication, and a proactive, team-oriented attitude.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age; possess a high school diploma or GED, and 1-2 years of recent cashiering experience supplemented with leadership training.
• Be dependable with a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Outgoing and friendly demeanor, positive attitude, ability to interact with customers as a role model.
• Ability to operate front end equipment; register, calculator, scanner.
• Good communication to take direction and work in a team.
• Ability to multi-task, stay organized, and perform repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of cashiers and assist with operational issues.
• Provide direction and support to cashiers and courtesy clerks at registers.
• Assist in customer service issues at the register and ensure smooth operations at checkout.
• Schedule and oversee breaks in compliance with policy and state requirements.
• Assist in hiring and training new cashiers and address disciplinary actions.
• Maintain security and loss prevention by monitoring exit doors and cash handling.
