Job summary

Lowe's Companies, Inc. in Mason, OH is seeking a Customer Service / Front End Associate to deliver exceptional service and support to customers in-store.

You will help customers locate and load merchandise, answer questions, and guide projects through completion while operating the sales register. The role requires cash handling and basic store technology usage, with emphasis on safety, accuracy, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement.
• Less than 1 year experience using a computer (inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information).
• Less than 1 year experience using common retail technology (smartphones, tablets).
• 1 year retail experience as a cashier.
• Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service at all times through Lowe's customer service policies, procedures and programs.
• Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise.
• Listens to and responds to customer and employee questions by guiding them through projects in-store.
• Communicates information to customers regarding stock, special order merchandise, features, benefits, application, and warranty information.
• Coaches, develops, trains associates in departmental duties or sales opportunities.
• Uses a cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds.
• Provides proper monetary change to Front End associates for register activities.
• Removes security tags, verifies product information, and bags merchandise.
• Assists in line vesting to improve checkout turnaround and coverage.
• Prepares register area at start/end of shift and stocks supplies.
• Inspects returned merchandise for damages.
• Enters and submits customer orders, prints order tickets, verifies receipts, signs off on loading tickets.
• Looks up product information and competitor prices for price match.
• Records items used in the store on the store use lists.
• Completes cash counting and daily reconciliation duties.
• Monitors cash in drawer and cash recycler levels.
• Monitors store entrances/exits and assists customers or associates triggering alarms.
• Detects signs of shoplifting and communicates to management/Asset Protection.
• Maintains housekeeping standards and store cleanliness.
• Maintains a safe and secure work environment and conducts daily safety reviews.
• Follows safety requirements relevant to job duties.
• Operates store equipment as needed (e.g., Zebra phone, scanner, copiers, CCTV, etc.).
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
