Job summary

Lowe’s in Youngstown is hiring for a cashier role focused on friendly, accurate service and efficient checkout support. You will assist customers with locating items, demonstrate product features, and process sales with care while maintaining store standards.

You’ll operate the register, handle returns, and help ensure a smooth checkout, collaborating with associates to meet daily goals and protect store assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable.
• Less than 1 Year Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
• Less than 1 Year Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets
• 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier
• Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service at all times through Lowe’s customer service policies, procedures and programs.
• Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise
• Uses a cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds according to company guidelines
• Maintains register area at shift start/end and confirms functionality of registers and scanners
• Detects signs of shoplifting and communicates them to management/Asset Protection
