Job summary

Lowe’s is seeking a store associate to deliver exceptional customer service and support cashier duties in a busy home improvement store. You will help customers locate products, demonstrate usage, and carry or load merchandise as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and familiarity with basic retail technology. You will work with the Front End Team to ensure smooth checkout and accurate transactions, while upholding Lowe’s standards and policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
• Less than 1 Year Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
• Less than 1 Year Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets
• 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier
• Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service at all times through Lowe's customer service policies, procedures and programs
• Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
• Assists customers and employees with questions and guides them through projects when necessary
• Communicates information regarding stock, special order merchandise, feature benefits, application, and warranty information
• Coaches, develops, and trains associates in departmental duties or sales opportunities (CSA Front End Team)
• Uses a cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds
• Removes security tags, verifies product information, and bags merchandise for customers
• Prepares register area and maintains stock for shift readiness
• Inspects returned merchandise for damages
• Looks up product information and price matches
• Records items used in store on use lists
• Completes cash counting and daily reconciliation duties
• Monitors cash in drawer and cash recycler levels
• Monitors store entrances/exits and assists customers or associates
• Detects signs of shoplifting and communicates them to management/Assets Protection
• Ensures housekeeping standards and store cleanliness
• Maintains a safe and secure work environment
• Operates store equipment as needed (e.g., Zebra phone, CCTV, scanners)
• Performs other duties as assigned
