Job summary

Lowe’s is hiring for a customer-focused cashier role at our Mobile, AL store. You will engage with customers, understand their needs, demonstrate products, and process sales while adhering to Lowe’s policies.

Responsibilities include assisting customers in locating merchandise, operating registers, handling payments, and maintaining store cleanliness and safety. Prior retail or cashier experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
• Less than 1 Year Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
• Less than 1 Year Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets
• 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier
• Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service at all times through Lowe’s customer service policies
• Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
• Listsens to and responds to customer questions by taking them to areas of the store and walking through projects
• Communicates information to customers regarding stock, special order merchandise, feature benefits, and warranty information
• Coaches, develops, provides feedback, and trains associates in departmental duties or sales opportunities
• Uses a cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds according to company guidelines
• Provides proper monetary change to Front End associates for register activities
• Removes security tags, verifies product information, and bags merchandise
• Prepares register area at shift start/end and stocks supplies
• Inspects returned merchandise for damages
• Enters and submits customer orders, prints order tickets, verifies receipts
• Looks up product information and competitor prices for price matching
• Records items used in the store on use lists
• Completes cash counting and daily reconciliation duties
• Monitors cash in drawer and cash recycler levels
• Monitors store entrances/exits and assists customers or associates
• Detects signs of shoplifting and communicates them to management
• Ensures housekeeping and safety standards are met
• Maintains a safe and secure work environment
• Operates store equipment as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned
