Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable.
• No more than 1 year experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
• No more than 1 year experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
• 1 year retail experience as a cashier.
• Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service at all times through Lowe's customer service policies, procedures and programs.
• Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
• Listens to and responds to customer and employee questions by guiding them through projects when necessary.
• Communicates information to customers regarding stock, special order merchandise, feature benefits, application, and warranty information.
• Coaches, develops, provides feedback, and trains associates in departmental duties or sales opportunities.
• Uses a cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds according to company guidelines.
• Removes security tags, verifies product information, and bags merchandise for customers.
• Prepares register area at the beginning and end of shift, including functionality checks.
• Inspects returned merchandise for damages.
• Enters and submits customer orders, prints order tickets, and verifies receipts.
• Looks up product information and competitor prices for price matching.
• Records items used in the store on the store use lists.
• Completes cash counting and daily reconciliation duties.
• Monitors cash in drawer and cash recycler levels.
• Monitors store entrances/exits and assists customers or associates who trigger the alarm.
• Detects shoplifting and security risks and communicates them to management.
• Maintains housekeeping standards and safety programs.
• Maintains a safe and secure work environment with daily safety reviews.
• Adheres to safety requirements relevant to regular duties.
• Operates store equipment as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
