Lowe's Companies, Inc. is seeking a customer-focused Cashier to join the Front End Team. You will help customers locate and load merchandise, answer questions, and process transactions accurately in a busy store environment.

Highlights include training other associates, handling stock information, price matching, and ensuring a safe, organized checkout area. Prior retail cashier experience is preferred for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement.
• Less than 1 Year Experience using a computer or store technology.
• Less than 1 Year Experience using common retail technology.
• 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier.
• Ability to obtain sales related licensure if required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service following Lowe's policies.
• Assists customers in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
• Responds to customer questions and guides them through projects in-store.
• Communicates stock, special order merchandise, features and warranty information to customers.
• Coaches and trains associates in departmental duties and sales opportunities.
• Uses a cash register to process sales, returns and refunds.
• Assists in line vesting to speed up checkout and coverage.
• Prepares register area at start and end of shift and checks equipment.
• Inspects returned merchandise for damages.
• Enters and signs off loading tickets and orders.
• Looks up product info and price match with competitors.
• Records store-use items and does daily cash reconciliation.
• Monitors cash in drawer and cash recycler levels.
• Monitors entrances/exits and reports security issues.
• Identifies shoplifting signs and communicates to management.
• Ensures housekeeping and safety standards are met.
• Maintains safe working environment and conducts daily safety reviews.
• Operates store equipment as needed (POS devices, scanners, copiers, CCTV, etc.).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
