Overview of Responsibilities

At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Head Cashier is responsible for supervising a team of cashiers and assisting with operational issues, including:

1. Ensuring excellent customer service through proactive register visits and providing support to Cashiers and Courtesy Clerks
2. Handling customer assistance issues at the register
3. Assigning store sweeps, monitoring/maintaining cash register supply levels, and maintaining cleanliness standards in restrooms and parking lots
4. Maintaining visibility of exit doors for security and loss prevention
5. Scheduling and overseeing proper execution of meal and rest breaks in accordance with company policy and state laws
6. Assisting in hiring and training new Cashiers and taking disciplinary actions as necessary
7. Thriving in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

To qualify as a Head Cashier at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

1. Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED, and have 1-2 years of cashiering experience with leadership training
2. Be dependable, reliable, and flexible to work nights, weekends, and holidays
3. Be outgoing, friendly, and positive, with strong customer interaction skills
4. Operate front-end equipment such as registers, calculators, and scanners
5. Possess good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
6. Perform repetitive activities, multi-task, prioritize, and stay organized
7. Lift/carry up to 30 lbs. and move grocery carts requiring up to 35 lbs. of force
8. Have strong attention to detail, proficiency with numbers, and cash handling skills
