Clean Harbors in South Plainfield and Bridgeport, NJ is seeking an Environmental Field Laborer to join our safety-conscious team. The role involves field duties related to hazardous waste cleanup, site remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling of hazardous materials.

Expect 90-95% travel with on-call and emergency response responsibilities. The position requires attending a paid one-week out-of-state training academy; travel expenses are covered and per diem provided.

Qualifications

• Must pass background check, drug test and medical exam as required.
• On-call requirement; willingness to work weekends/holidays and potentially extended shifts.
• Exposure to hazardous environments and adherence to OSHA respiratory protection standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform hazardous waste cleanup and site remediation tasks.
• Decontaminate equipment and handle hazardous materials.
• Operate light and heavy equipment and use PPE correctly.
• Follow all safety policies and report hazardous conditions.
• Assist in field sampling and calibration of meters.
• Attend safety meetings and comply with regulatory requirements.
