Job summary

Clean Harbors in Newburgh, NY seeks a Field Services Technician I to perform hazardous waste cleanup, site remediation, and decontamination tasks. The role requires readiness for on-site field work, lifting heavy objects, and operating various equipment in varying conditions.

Training is provided; travel and per diem are covered as needed. Applicants must have a valid driver's license, pass background checks, and be able to work extended hours, weekends, or holidays as required.

Qualifications

• Requires the ability to perform strenuous physical tasks in field settings.
• On-call for emergency response on a rotating schedule.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
• Must pass background check, drug test, and medical exam.
• Experience with hazardous waste handling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain health and safety as the top priority and follow all policies.
• Engage in strenuous physical labor, lifting and pulling heavy objects.
• Operate light and heavy equipment and use hand tools.
• Wear and use PPE and respirators properly.
• Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Be on-call for emergency response and site remediation tasks.
• Assist in field sampling and calibration of meters.
