Clean Harbors in Greenville / Spartanburg, SC is seeking a Field Services Technician I to join our safety conscious team. This role will be active in the field responsible for the performance of tasks associated with hazardous waste clean-up, site-remediation, equipment decontamination and handling of hazardous materials.

100% Travel and On Call / Emergency Response required. This position includes a two-week paid Academy training, which may be out of state with expenses covered by the company.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Able to perform physically demanding tasks and lifting.
• Willing to be on-call for emergency response and possible weekend/holiday work.
• Must pass background check, drug test, and medical exam.
• Compliance with OSHA respirator standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and always acting in a safe manner.
• Engage in strenuous physical labor including lifting and pulling heavy objects.
• Operate light and heavy equipment, handles various hand tools and powered industrial tools.
• Wear and properly use PPE including respirators and protective gear.
• Work in various temperatures indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Work in atmospheres with potential exposure to hazardous chemicals or materials.
• Climb ladders/scaffolding and work at elevations including from trucks or tanks.
• Conduct waste sampling and profiling as needed.
• Follow all local, state/provincial and federal compliance regulations and DOT rules.
• Be on call for emergency response on rotating basis and assist in site remediation and decontamination.
