Job summary

Republic Services is hiring a HazMat Field Driver/Technician in Portland, OR to transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste using class B trucks. Will haul various trailers, including roll-offs and tankers, with a schedule that may include overnight shifts and some weekends.

Responsibilities include safety, logs, manifests, DOT compliance, and customer interaction. The role requires a CDL with hazmat/tanker endorsements or eligibility to obtain, HAZWOPER training, and the ability to lift heavy

Qualifications

• Valid Class B CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements or ability to obtain within 90 days from hire.
• Ability to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER training upon hire.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform loading/unloading tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to prioritize, stay focused and handle multiple responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate trucks including roll-offs, tankers, and other trailers.
• Perform LTL pickups and DOT compliance tasks.
• Maintain driver documents and logs, waste manifests, and trip reports.
• Comply with DOT regulations for hazardous waste transport, loading, labeling.
• Inspect vehicle pre/post trips and communicate with customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Assist in lab pack and field service projects as needed.
• Participate in Site Safety and required training.
