Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a HazMat Field Driver/Technician to transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste, operating Class A trucks and various trailers. The role may include occasional overnight shifts and requires strict adherence to DOT rules, site safety, and customer communication.

A valid CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements is required or obtainable within 90 days. Candidates should be able to lift heavy objects, pass HAZWOPER training, and maintain accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class A CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements or be able to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Must pass a 40-hour HAZWOPER training requirement.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate trucks including roll-offs, tankers and other related vehicles.
• Perform LTL pickups and ensure proper loading/unloading procedures.
• Maintain driver documents (logbooks, permits, trip reports, waste manifests).
• Comply with DOT regulations for hazardous waste collection, packaging, loading, labeling and segregation.
• Adhere to state weight limit laws and safe driving practices.
• Communicate effectively with customers and maintain site housekeeping.
• May function as a lab pack/field service technician when required.
• Participate in Site Safety program and required training.
