Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a HazMat Field Driver/Technician to transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste using class A tractors and various trailers. Monday–Friday with potential 3–4 overnight shifts, weekends off except for critical needs.

Duties include DOT compliance, safety inspections, and customer communication. Qualified candidates hold a valid Class A CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements or can obtain them within 90 days, and must complete 40-hour HAZWOPER training.

Qualifications

• Valid class A commercial driver’s license with hazmat and tanker endorsements or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Must pass 40-hour HAZWOPER Training upon hire.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate trucks including roll-offs, tankers, tractor-trailers, box trucks, and other configurations.
• Performs LTL pickups and maintains driver documents such as logs, permits, and trip reports.
• Complies with DOT regulations for hazardous waste handling, loading, labeling, and transport.
• Ensures safe operation and adherence to weight limits and company policies.
• Uses company mobile apps and technology as assigned by leadership.
• Performs DOT/MOT pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Interacts with customers to ensure satisfaction and supports site safety program.
• May assist as a technician on lab pack and field service projects.
• Fulfills other duties as assigned.
