Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Environmental Services Field Technician I to work under close supervision, following detailed instructions and applying basic judgment to routine issues in emergency response, hazardous and non-hazardous spill clean-up, and hazmat decontamination.

The incumbent troubleshoots basic problems, identifies deviations from accepted practices, and responds to spills and emergencies during hours and after hours. Safety-first approach is essential across all tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience working with hazardous and non-hazardous cleanup.
• Pass 40-hour HAZWOPER training upon hire.
• Able to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs.
• Understand safety data sheets and safe handling of chemicals.
• Valid driver’s license may be required for some positions.

Responsibilities

• Performs tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, drum handling, decontamination, and high-pressure washing.
• Responds to customer spills and emergencies during and after normal hours.
• Performs general housekeeping and maintenance of equipment and site.
• Follows safety policies and regulations in all tasks.
• Sets up and uses equipment such as pumps, generators, air compressors, and light towers.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
