Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a HazMat Field Driver/Technician to transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste using class A trucks, with occasional straight trucks. This role typically runs Mon-Fri with overnight shifts and occasional weekends for critical business needs.

The position emphasizes safety, DOT regulations, proper hazmat handling, and accurate documentation. A CDL Class A with hazmat/tanker endorsements and 40-hour HAZWOPER training are required or must be obtained within 90 days.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A with hazardous materials and tanker endorsements or ability to obtain within 90 days from hire date.
• Ability to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER Training upon hire.
• Strong attention to detail and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate trucks (roll-offs, tankers, tractor-trailers, box trucks)
• Perform LTL pickups and waste container handling
• Maintain driver logs, permits, trip reports, and waste manifests
• Comply with DOT hazmat packaging, loading, labeling, and load segregation
• Adhere to state weight limit laws and safe driving practices
• Interact with customers to ensure satisfaction and proper site safety
