Job summary

Veolia North America is hiring for a hazardous materials technician to support waste treatment, storage and disposal with emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

You will operate forklifts, handle hazardous materials, and complete documentation while working 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts. The role requires physical activity, outdoor work, and adherence to PPE protocols in varied environments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of prior experience working with hazardous materials.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Ability to operate equipment including a forklift and pallet jack.
• Visual acuity to read labels and documentation; depth perception to safely drive forklifts.
• Ability to hear vehicle warning chimes and alarms.
• Ability to work outdoors in all climate conditions and indoors in non-climate-controlled conditions.
• Willingness to wear company-issued PPE including safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed shoes, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator.

Responsibilities

• Consolidate, treat, store, transport and/or dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with environmentally responsible practices and procedures.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds throughout the day.
• Operate a forklift and other mobile equipment to move containers and load/unload trailers.
• Complete required documentation accurately, timely and legibly per regulations and policies.
