Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking an Environmental Technician to consolidate, treat, store, pack, transport and/or dispose of hazardous waste in compliance with environmental regulations. The role requires maintaining detailed records and working outdoors in various conditions.

The position includes operating forklifts and other equipment, completing documentation, and performing related tasks as assigned by management. Comprehensive benefits and union considerations may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to repeatedly lift and carry 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk over uneven surfaces for extended periods.
• Willingness and ability to wear PPE including safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed shoes, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator.
• Ability to work outdoors in all climate conditions and indoors in non-climate-controlled conditions.

Responsibilities

• The Environmental Technician consolidates, treats, stores, packs, transports and/or disposes of hazardous waste in accordance with environmentally responsible and compliant practices, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records.
• Segregate and package material for transport.
• Operate fork trucks and other mobile equipment to move containers to and from storage and treatment areas and to load/unload trailers.
• Complete required documentation accurately, timely and legibly in accordance with applicable regulations and customer policies, practices and procedures.
• Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.
