Job summary

Clean Harbors in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking a Field Services Technician II to join our safety-minded team in the field. You will perform hazardous waste clean-up, site remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling of hazardous materials in various environments.

Expect strenuous physical work, on-call emergency response on a rotating basis, and travel as needed. A one-week out-of-state training academy is required; travel expenses are covered by the company.

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation
• Valid Driver's license
• Ability to perform physical functions per Key Responsibilities
• On-call/emergency response requirement; weekends/holidays may be required
• Background check, drug test, and physical may be required
• Facial hair standards per OSHA Respiratory Protection standard

Responsibilities

• Follow health and safety policies to keep safety as a priority
• Engage in strenuous physical labor including lifting heavy objects
• Operate light and heavy equipment and hand/power tools
• Use PPE properly including respirators and protective clothing
• Work in various temperatures and weather conditions
• Handle hazardous materials and waste safely
• Assist in field sampling and calibration of meters
• Climb ladders/scaffolding and access tanks/trucks
• Attend compliance and safety meetings
• Complete paperwork such as inspections and permits
• Be on-call for emergency response on rotating basis
• May perform site remediation and decontamination tasks
