Job summary

Arcwood Environmental is seeking a Field Chemist to sort and transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials with emphasis on safety and compliance. The role reports to the Field Office and travels to regional projects, returning to the office daily.

Responsibilities include segregation of chemicals, packing, and site communication to ensure safe transportation. Requires an Associates degree (Bachelors preferred), 2+ years of related experience, and a valid CDL with Hazmat endorsement or the

Qualifications

• Associates degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2+ years of related experience in field or lab packing is preferred/required.
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to obtain Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) checks to company standards.
• Due to exposure to hazardous materials, candidate must be able to pass respirator FIT tests and maintain clean-shaven appearance for PPE.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes health and safety by following policies and maintaining safe practices at all times.
• Assist in segregation of chemicals by hazard class and pack compatible materials for transport.
• Load supplies for jobs and travel to various sites to perform lab pack services.
• Assist in characterizing materials at field sites and ensure proper placarding for transport of hazardous materials.
• Develops good customer relations by communicating with site personnel at customer locations.
• Directs Field Technicians/ Drivers assisting with waste collection as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of high-hazard materials handling and cylinder management.
• Willingness to travel to support field locations as needed.
