Job summary

Arcwood Environmental is seeking a Field Chemist to safely manage field operations, transport hazardous materials, and coordinate with site contacts. You will report to the field office and travel to projects across the region, returning to the office daily.

Qualifications

• Associates degree is required; bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Two+ years of related experience if no degree.
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to obtain Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement within 6 months of hire date.
• Must pass Motor Vehicle Record check; clean shaven required for respirator use.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies and safe practices.
• Assists in segregation of chemicals by hazard class and packs materials for transport; completes paperwork.
• Determines and loads supplies for job completion and travels to sites for lab pack services.
• Assists in characterizing materials at field project sites.
• Follows placarding and load segregation rules when transporting hazardous materials.
• Develops customer relations by communicating with site contacts at customer locations.
• Directs Field Technicians/Drivers assisting with waste collection.
• Maintains knowledge of high-hazard materials management and cylinder handling.
• Willing to travel to support outside locations as needed.
• Takes on additional duties to support the team and organization.
