Job summary

Arcwood Environmental is seeking a Field Chemist to sort and transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste, ensuring safety and compliance on every job. The role reports to the Field Office and travels to projects across the region each day.

Responsibilities include packing materials, loading supplies, completing paperwork, and maintaining good customer relations with site contacts. A valid CDL with Hazmat endorsement is required, with goal to obtain within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Valid Driver's License with Hazmat required; ability to obtain Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement within 6 months.
• Must pass Motor Vehicle Record check.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies and maintaining safe practices.
• Assists in segregation of chemicals by hazard class and packs compatible materials in appropriate containers and prepares for transportation; completes necessary paperwork for each job.
• Determines and loads supplies needed for job completion and travels to various sites to perform lab pack services.
• Assists in characterizing materials at field project sites.
• Adheres to proper placarding and load segregation requirements when transporting hazardous materials.
• Develops good customer relations by effectively communicating with site points of contact and others at customer location/site.
• Directs Field Technicians/Drivers who assist with waste collection.
• Maintains introductory knowledge of high-hazard materials management/assessment and cylinder handling.
• Maintains ability to travel to support outside locations as needed.
• Takes on additional duties to support the team and organization.
