Job summary

Arcwood Environmental is seeking a Field Chemist to sort and transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste, ensuring safety and compatibility for every service. The role reports to the Field Office and travels regionally to projects, with daily returns to the office.

Qualifications

• Associate degree is required; bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• 2+ years of related experience required; lab packing or environmental waste experience preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to obtain Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement within 6 months.
• Must pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check to company standards.
• Due to exposure to hazardous materials, must be clean shaven to don a respirator.

Responsibilities

• Sort and transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials and waste, ensuring safety in all processes.
• Adhere to safety policies and maintain safe practices at all times.
• Assist in segregating chemicals by hazard class and prepare for transportation; complete paperwork for each job.
• Travel to various sites to perform lab pack services and support project needs.
• Develop good customer relations by communicating with site contacts and others at the location.
• Direct Field Technicians/Drivers assisting with waste collection as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of high-hazard materials management and cylinder handling; travel to support outside locations as needed.
• Take on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization.
