Job summary

Manatee County in Bradenton seeks a Facilities Technician for the Household Hazardous Waste and electronics program at Lena Rd. The role receives, sorts, handles and prepares HHW, e-scrap, batteries, and other materials for recycling, transportation, treatment, or disposal.

You will assist residents, ensure compliance with federal, state, and local rules, wear PPE, operate forklifts and related equipment, and participate in collection events and outreach while maintaining records and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred experience at HHW/e-waste facilities or hazardous environments.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain certifications as required.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort HHW, electronics, batteries, and other materials for recycling or disposal.
• Assist residents and provide information on HHW, electronics, and recycling programs.
• Ensure compliance with federal/state/local rules and safety procedures.
• Operate forklifts and related equipment; load/unload materials as needed.
• Maintain records and assist with collection events and outreach.
