Job summary

The Allen County Department of Environmental Management seeks a Part-Time Hazardous Waste Technician to safely manage materials and support recycling and waste programs. The role involves outdoor work, physical activity, and teamwork.

You will collect batteries, bulbs, chemicals, assist with HHW events, operate basic equipment, and ensure proper handling and shipping of waste. Training is provided; valid Indiana driver’s license and ability to lift 75 lbs required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; related degree is a plus but not required.
• Experience in waste management or similar field is helpful, but training is provided.
• Valid Indiana Driver’s License is required.
• Comfortable with physical work and lifting up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and maintain safety.

Responsibilities

• Unload vehicles, weigh materials, and sort waste for proper disposal.

What We’re Looking For
