Job summary

Republic Services in Hillsboro, OR is seeking an Environmental Services Field Technician I to assist with emergency response and spill cleanup, performing tasks from tank cleaning to hazmat decontamination under supervision. You will operate equipment, follow safety policies, and support a range of remedial activities in the field.

Ideal candidates have 0-2 years experience, ability to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER, and a strong safety mindset; valid driver's license may be required. Training provided.

Qualifications

• Experience handling hazardous materials and understanding safety data sheets.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions and safety documents.
• Willingness to provide input on safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Performs tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, drum handling, decontamination, and high-pressure washing in sheltered spaces.
• Responds to customer spills and emergencies during and after business hours.
• Operates equipment such as pumps, generators, air compressors, and light towers.
• Maintains safe, clean work sites and adheres to safety policies.
