Job summary

TOTE Group in Jacksonville, FL seeks a Hazardous Shipment Specialist to obtain, assess, audit, and document hazardous materials information for cargo on TOTE's vessels. You will ensure complete, accurate, and regulatory-compliant documentation to support safe transportation and efficient freight movement.

The role requires knowledge of 49 CFR and strong collaboration with customers and internal teams, with a focus on data integrity, KPI management, and process improvement.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent; 5+ years in transportation preferred.
• Experience with hazardous materials and 49 CFR is preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Add hazardous data to bookings and bill of ladings promptly.
• Review hazardous paperwork for inconsistencies before cargo receipt.
• Audit and attach hazardous documents in back office systems.
• Run daily hazardous reports from back office/terminal systems.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and accurate documentation.
