Job summary

US Armstrong Flight Research Center is seeking an Environmental Protection Specialist to oversee the full lifecycle of hazardous materials and hazardous waste at the Edwards AFB facility to ensure safety, compliance, and efficient operations.

The role requires managing material authorization, tracking, inventory control, and regulatory compliance using computer-based systems while evaluating activities against federal, state, and local environmental requirements and providing technical guidance

Qualifications

• Managing hazardous materials through computer-based management systems, including reviewing material information, maintaining inventories and records, evaluating regulatory requirements, and ensuring materials entering a facility are properly authorized, documented, tracked, and managed in accordance with applicable requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full lifecycle of hazardous materials and hazardous waste at a facility to ensure safety, compliance, and efficient operations.
• Manage material authorization, tracking, inventory control, and regulatory compliance using computer-based systems.
• Evaluate activities against federal, state, and local environmental requirements; identify compliance issues; and provide technical guidance to staff and project teams.
