Job summary

The Mortgage Law Firm in Hawaii seeks an Associate Attorney to represent creditor clients in pre-litigation, settlement, foreclosure, bankruptcy, eviction, and light litigation matters. You will handle high-volume caseloads, file timely pleadings, appear in state and federal courts, and travel between courts as needed, including remote appearances.

Must have 5+ years of experience, a JD and Hawaii bar in good standing, strong communication skills, and willingness to work in a demanding, ethical

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate required and Hawaii Bar in good standing.
• 5+ years of experience as an associate attorney.
• Experience in foreclosure, title, and/or bankruptcy preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage a high-volume individual caseload across pre-litigation, settlement, foreclosure, bankruptcy, eviction, and light litigation.
• Prepare timely pleadings, letters, motions, discovery, and filings; advocate at hearings.
• Attend court hearings, mediations, and proceedings in person or remotely.
• Conduct initial intake and strategy analysis on newly assigned cases; research applicable law and facts.
• Make tactical decisions within supervision guidelines and communicate updates to clients.
• Record billable time accurately and collaborate with the team on internal processing.

Skills

Hawaii Bar license in good standing

Strong written and verbal commun.*
