Job summary

Emery Jensen Distribution seeks a Retail Sales Specialist to support independent lumberyards, paint retailers, hardware stores, and e-retailers across Oahu. You will drive merchandising excellence, manage inventory and planograms, and partner with store teams to grow sales.

Eligible for a company vehicle, you will travel extensively in the territory, build relationships, and support product introductions while ensuring top-notch in-store experiences for customers in Honolulu, Pearl City,

Qualifications

• 3+ years in retail, merchandising, customer service, or related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree plus 1+ year of retail experience considered equivalent.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Comfortable lifting up to 35 pounds and using ladders as needed.
• Travel up to 80%, including occasional overnight travel; travel by air as required.
• Driving a company vehicle and meeting MV and insurance eligibility requirements.
• Valid U.S. driver's license for at least 3 continuous years.
• Must reside in or near Honolulu, Pearl City, Mililani or Aiea.

Responsibilities

• Execute merchandising plans, planograms, and retail resets.
• Maintain in-store product presentation, pricing, signage, and promotional displays.
• Identify opportunities to improve sales, inventory turns, and category performance.
• Write and recommend product orders that support customer needs.
• Support new product introductions and store conversion initiatives.
• Partner with store teams to resolve inventory, shipping, claims, and product issues.
• Monitor and communicate sales trends, customer feedback, and market insights.
• Verify planogram accuracy and order missing items as needed.
• Assist with new store openings, special events, and promotional activities.
• Travel throughout the assigned territory to support customer locations.
