Job summary

Granger Waste Services, Inc in Alma, MI is seeking an Operations Supervisor – Hauling for full-time, on-site work. The role covers staffing, safety, and route operations with a Monday–Friday schedule and occasional Saturdays.

You’ll lead a team, manage timekeeping and payroll coding, coordinate daily plans, and partner with maintenance, sales and landfill teams to meet customer needs. A CDL-B with airbrakes and forklift license is required or obtainable within 3 months.

Qualifications

• CDL-B with airbrakes and forklift license required (or ability and willingness to obtain within 3 months)
• High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree or equivalent preferred
• Basic MS 365 skills: Word, Excel, Outlook

Responsibilities

• Foster accountability, safety and performance for direct reports
• Set expectations, coach and complete performance reviews
• Manage timekeeping, PTO requests and payroll coding
• Coordinate daily and weekly staffing plans, schedules and workflow priorities
• Promote safety culture and participate in investigations
• Build strong relationships through daily communication and recognition
• Support recruiting, onboarding and training for new associates
• Collaborate with solutions, maintenance, sales and landfill teams on work orders
• Lead or participate in meetings and maintain documentation
• Ensure efficient route operations through scheduling and routing monitoring
• Support special projects as needed
