Job summary

Priority Waste Resources in Burton, MI is seeking a Logistics Manager to lead the yard team of drivers and coordinate daily waste collection operations, ensuring safe, efficient service and high customer satisfaction.

You will act as a liaison between drivers, customers and internal teams, provide real-time support, monitor route performance, drive improvements, and mentor new drivers through onboarding and coaching.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or related field with supervisory experience.
• Strong routing, dispatch, and fleet operations knowledge.
• Proven leadership and team development abilities.
• Effective communication and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and logistics systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support a team of drivers, including daily oversight, coaching, and performance management
• Assign and adjust routes and carrier responsibilities to ensure efficient service delivery
• Provide real-time support to drivers throughout their routes, resolving service, safety, and equipment issues
• Serve as the escalation point for customer concerns, ensuring timely and effective resolution
• Communicate with drivers and internal teams via phone, Microsoft Teams chat, and video
• Collaborate with logistics, customer service, and quality teams to drive service excellence
• Track, trace, and update the status of daily waste removal routes using internal systems
• Monitor route performance and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
• Assist with onboarding and training of new drivers and provide ongoing coaching
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and implement operational enhancements
• Monitor waste storage areas, documentation, equipment, and procedures from the Burton, MI yard
