Community Access in New York City seeks a Harm Reduction Specialist within the Housing department. The role delivers engagement and support services to residents using a harm reduction model, runs groups, and provides non-judgmental assistance for those at risk.

You will train staff, support program staff, contribute to the Harm Reduction Committee, and ensure timely documentation and service plans, while maintaining confidentiality and collaborating with a multilingual team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum three years working with people who have history of homelessness, substance use, and/or mental health diagnosis.
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Be fingerprinted and cleared through a background clearance process.

Responsabilités

• Provide engagement and support services using a harm reduction model.
• Lead harm reduction groups and workshops at assigned locations.
• Train program staff on harm reduction approaches.
• Provide individual support and group activities for residents.
• Contribute to agency Harm Reduction Committee and related projects.
• Ensure documentation and service plans are completed on time.
