Job summary

Victory Programs is seeking a Harm Reduction Social Worker in Boston, MA to deliver specialized mental health and harm reduction services within a transitional housing program. You will use clinical interventions to support individuals with substance use and mental health disorders and report to the Program Director.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work.
• Knowledge of HIV/AIDS, homelessness, substance use, STIs, and health-related social issues.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
• Excellent verbal communication; open discussions about sex and substance use risk.
• Knowledge of group facilitation.
• Strong computer skills: Outlook, Excel; CPR and TB screening may be obtained on hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily support to clients with mental health episodes and active substance use.
• Offer crisis intervention and follow-up to resolve client issues.
• Support staff in client engagement and interactions.
• Lead and facilitate client groups weekly; complete required documentation.
• Provide syringe services, naloxone, and harm reduction supplies.
• Collaborate with case managers to implement client service plans.
• Supervise first-year social work interns with supervision.
• Attend supervision, staff meetings, and trainings as requested.
