Job summary

Evergreen Treatment Services is seeking a Community Safety and Overdose Response Specialist in Seattle (Belltown). The role emphasizes overdose response, harm reduction within milieu spaces, and building trusting relationships with clients to promote safety and engagement.

You will work with the REACH team to connect clients to services, educate on safer drug use, and support crisis intervention while maintaining a welcoming, trauma-informed environment for people who use drugs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Undergraduate degree preferred.
• Experience in social services or related field desired.
• Knowledge of harm reduction principles and overdose prevention.
• Ability to engage diverse populations in challenging environments.
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Overdose response and fatality prevention by building relationships with PWUD and applying harm reduction in milieu work.
• Support drop-in/milieu space and foster client engagement and community safety.
• Utilize motivational interviewing and trauma-informed care; set clear boundaries for safety.
• De-escalate conflicts and manage client flow within REACH office space.
• Maintain safety, document interactions, and coordinate with Care Managers for self-care and crisis plans.
• Coordinate outreach activities, trainings, and group events with REACH staff.
