Job summary

Evergreen Treatment Services seeks a Community Safety and Overdose Response Specialist in Seattle to support the REACH program. You will engage with people who use drugs, provide harm reduction-based care, and coordinate with local services to prevent overdoses and maintain a safe milieu.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed approaches, motivational interviewing, and de‑escalation to ensure welcoming, respectful care while maintaining boundaries and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; undergraduate degree preferred.
• Experience delivering harm reduction and overdose prevention services.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in challenging environments.

Responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships with clients living outside and using drugs near the REACH office.
• Intervene to prevent escalation and encourage engagement in supportive services.
• Maintain safety and orderly flow in the milieu and front desk operations.
• Coordinate with EMS, law enforcement and partners for emergencies and aftercare.
• Educate clients on safer drug use practices and MOUD options.
• Document interactions and participate in supervision and meetings.
