Job summary

AMD invites motivated hardware verification interns/co-ops to join the AI-focused design team in the United States. You will participate in design, build, and delivery of high-end Machine Intelligence products, collaborating with senior engineers on verification plans and models.

You will write scripts in Perl/Python, test flows in Perl/Python/MySQL/PHP, and review tools to boost simulation performance. This role emphasizes hands-on lab work and cross-functional learning.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a United States-based university in a Bachelor's program majoring in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of languages and scripts such as C++/Python/C/Perl/Shell/UVM is desirable; enthusiasm encouraged.
• Familiarity with Verilog/SystemVerilog, digital systems, Linux/Unix/Windows environments, and basic lab equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior engineers to build and complete performance verification test plans, simulation test cases and models.
• Write scripts related to tracking and managing compute resources using Perl/Python.
• Test regression flows written in Perl/Python/MySQL/PHP to support project development.
• Review new tools, processes and options to improve simulation performance and team efficiency.
• Support debugging and improving test cases/models and Verilog/systemVerilog coding.
• Build test platforms and perform system-level testing.
• Production validation tasks, testing integrated hardware and software functionalities.
• Use software/tools to engage in low-level testing and root-cause analysis.
