Hardware Technician Omaha, NE (Job ID: JR013805)
Night Shift 6PM – 6AM, Omaha, NE. US Citizens Only
Schedule: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, every other Wednesday. After 4 months, every other Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and decommission servers, storage systems, and network equipment in data center environments
- Follow established procedures to complete rack and stack operations, cable management, and hardware labeling
- Apply troubleshooting techniques to diagnose and resolve hardware failures and performance issues
- Complete routine hardware maintenance tasks including component replacements
- Support data center operations by monitoring environmental conditions and responding to alerts
- Convey technical information clearly with team members, clients, and vendors during hardware-related activities
- Maintain accurate documentation of hardware inventory, configurations, and maintenance activities
- Follow safety protocols and data center security procedures at all times
Required Qualifications
- 2-4 years of experience working with server hardware, data center operations, or related IT infrastructure roles
- Understanding of server hardware components (CPUs, memory, storage, power supplies, network interfaces)
- Knowledge of data center operations including rack installation, cable management, and environmental monitoring
- Ability to follow established procedures and apply technical knowledge to complete assigned tasks
- Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols
- Physical ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs and work in data center environments
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in Information Technology or related field preferred
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and on-call rotation as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA A+, Server+, or similar hardware certifications
- Experience with Dell, HP, Cisco, or other enterprise hardware platforms
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and ticketing systems
- Basic Linux or Windows server administration knowledge
