Formlabs is offering a Winter/Spring 2027 internship in Somerville, MA, onsite, focused on high‑reliability 3D printers. You will join cross‑disciplinary teams to design tests, evaluate subsystems, and prototype features, while contributing to reliability studies and software tooling.

A portfolio of engineering work is required, and interns are paid bi‑weekly on a salaried schedule with standard full‑time expectations.

Qualifications

• Portfolio of engineering work/projects is required.
• Experience with mechanical or electro‑mechanical systems is desirable.
• An up‑to‑date resume and portfolio highlight learning and applied skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and run studies to characterize printer performance.
• Build test setups to evaluate subsystem reliability.
• Debug and diagnose electro‑mechanical issues with cross‑functional teams.
• Write Python scripts and tools for reliability studies.
• Assist in building and commissioning prototypes.
