Job summary

Formlabs in Somerville, MA is seeking a Hardware Test Engineering Intern to develop, execute, and manage validation tests for 3D printers. You will work with our engineers to perform system, subsystem, and component testing and report findings that shape future features and reliability.

You will design and implement automated test setups, analyze field failures with physics-of-failure methods, and collaborate across teams to drive robust, producible hardware.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with complex electromechanical systems and reliability concepts.
• Experience designing and executing system test plans in fast-paced environments.
• Ability to prototype and run tests, including hardware and software.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and manage system, subsystem, and component tests to meet reliability requirements.
• Perform hands-on testing and data-driven root-cause analysis of field failures.
• Design, build, and implement automated testing equipment for subsystem characterization.
