Job summary

Normal Computing Corp. in the United States is seeking a Hardware System Design Engineer to lead the system architecture of our AI compute hardware from concept to deployment.

You will shape boards, chassis, interconnects, and rack-scale designs across hardware and software teams. You will define requirements, evaluate options with ODMs and suppliers, and drive critical tradeoffs to deliver cohesive, high-performance AI systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Significant experience architecting complex compute hardware systems.
• Experience with ODMs, suppliers, and hardware partners to resolve issues.
• Experience bringing hardware architectures into production-scale compute systems.
• Experience designing high-performance AI compute systems at server and rack scale.
• Advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead system architecture design from concept through design reviews, integration and deployment.
• Define system requirements, evaluate architectural options and drive key technical decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure performance and workload alignment.
• Lead tradesoffs and topology decisions across boards, chassis, interconnects, and rack-scale fabrics.
• Oversee bring-up, integration, validation and qualification strategies for AI compute hardware.
