Job summary

Mythic is seeking a System Architect to own the rack-level reference design for our energy-efficient AI compute platforms. You will lead rack, board, and chassis trade-offs, spanning interconnect, cooling, power delivery, and software-partitioning strategies.

You will collaborate across electrical, mechanical, and software teams to ensure a coherent architecture that scales to thousands of devices while meeting performance and cost targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with relevant server/datacenter/HPC/AI system design experience.
• Demonstrated ownership of dense, rack-based server systems from specs to production.
• Expert command of copper and optical interconnects (PCIe, high-speed Ethernet, SerDes, DAC/twinax, backplane, optics) and signal integrity.
• Experience removing heat from racks, cooling architectures, and managing flow/thermal budgets.
• Ability to reason across interconnect, power, thermal, mechanical, and software boundaries, including modeling and trade studies.

Responsibilities

• Own rack-level reference architecture from pathfinding through a working reference implementation.
• Lead scale-up/scale-out interconnect decisions, including topology, bandwidth, latency, and component selection.
• Shape thermal architecture for high-density racks with direct-to-chip cooling, cold plates, and CDU/manifolds.
• Design power delivery architecture, rack distribution, high-voltage DC and 48V conversion, and reliability considerations.
• Collaborate with software on model partitioning and fabric requirements, backed by quantitative rack- and cluster-level models.
