Job summary

AMD is seeking a Sr. System Design Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design of AI compute infrastructure, including servers, rack integration, and cooling systems, at its Secaucus, NJ labs.

The role spans concept through volume production, involving cross-functional collaboration with thermal, structural, and electronics teams to deliver robust, scalable, and manufacturable solutions for high-performance computing platforms.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in high-performance computing hardware is preferred.
• Strong leadership and ability to influence cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a global team to define, design, and integrate mechanical systems for compute and networking products.
• Lead mechanical development spanning server design, system architecture, rack integration, cooling solutions, and optics technologies.
• Champion Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Reliability (DFR) principles for high-volume production.
• Participate in and lead design reviews, providing actionable feedback to improve product quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Perform advanced mechanical design and modeling in Creo, conduct tolerance analyses, and develop system-level design solutions.
