Job summary

Viejas Casino & Resort is seeking an experienced locksmith to maintain and repair doors, hardware, and locking systems across our facilities. You will manage master key systems, document key and lock inventories, and coordinate with vendors to ensure security and compliance.

The ideal candidate has journey-level expertise, 5 years of related experience, and a certificate of locksmith competency. A valid driver's license and clean record are required for site access and coordination of work

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair doors, door hardware, locksets, exit devices, closets and standard building hardware.
• Install and service locking and closing mechanisms.
• Establish and manage a secure master key system (great grand master, sub master, change keys).
• Keep accurate records of keys, locks, and related components; document using computer systems.
• Interpret door schedule blueprints, drawings and sketches.
• Prepare estimates and work plans; coordinate with vendors for locksmith services.
• Perform duties with a focus on security; assist with other crafts as required.

Job SummaryPerforms skilled journey level work of the locksmith trade in connection with the maintenance and repair of the facilities' doors, door hardware, restroom, and standard building hardware. Inspects buildings, facilities and equipment and recommends repairs. Prepares preventative and planned maintenance related work orders.Job Description• Performs skilled tasks involving the maintenance of file cabinets, desks, padlocks, locksets, exit devices, door closers and floor checks. • Performs installation and routine maintenance on all type of locking and closing mechanisms. • Establishes a secure master key system involving great grand master, sub master and change keys. Integrates new sub master and change keys into existing master key systems without cross keying. • Keeps accurate and up to date records of filing, logging of keys by hook, code, door or space number including manufacturer of locks, other keys that operate lock and the function of the lock. • Utilizes computer systems for documentation. • Adjusts and repairs doors and windows of both wood and metal construction as required. • Performs duties with a high sensitivity toward security. Assists with other crafts as required. • Prepares and submits daily labor and material cost records. • Repairs and replaces existing building hardware and support equipment as required. • Maintains a working knowledge of operational and repair requirements. • Maintains a proficiency in the use of hand and power tools standard within the trades. • Interprets door schedule blueprints, drawings and sketches. • Prepares estimates and work plans for jobs performed by in house team members as well as outside contractors. Coordinates with local vendors for locksmith services. • Performs all related and compatible duties as assigned. • Does not provide supervision to others. • Certificate of competency as a locksmith preferred. • Valid Driver’s License Required. • Clean Driving Record Required. • 5 years of related experience. • Through journey level knowledge and skill in performing the duties of a hardware specialist, including journey level skill in preventative maintenance and repair procedures, trouble-shooting, construction, installation and fabrication techniques. • Knowledge of proper use and maintenance of hand and power tools related to job functions. • Knowledge of building codes, rules and regulations. • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Hiring PreferenceThe Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians is an equal opportunity employer.
