Job summary

Viejas is seeking a skilled Hardware Specialist with journey-level locksmith expertise to maintain and repair doors, hardware and related building components at our San Diego area facilities. The role requires installing locking systems and developing master key plans while ensuring security protocols and accurate record-keeping.

The ideal candidate has 5 years of locksmith experience, a valid license, and strong tool proficiency.

Qualifications

5 years of related locksmith experience is required.
Certificate of competency as a locksmith is preferred.
Valid Driver’s License required and clean driving record.
Knowledge of building codes and door hardware maintenance.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and door schedules.

Responsibilities

Perform skilled maintenance on doors, hardware, file cabinets, desks, padlocks and exit devices.
Install and service locking mechanisms and door closers.
Develop and manage a master key system with sub/master/change keys.
Maintain accurate records of keys, codes and lock functions.
Coordinate with vendors and prepare cost estimates for jobs.
Utilize computer systems for documentation and planning.
